Waffle

This is the first recipe that I cooked at school, it was not bad to be the first time, maybe the waffle could have been fluffier but it was ok. It was really fun to make the dough with my unit and combine our skills for the first time!

For one regualar waffle you need:

  • 3 eggs
  • 250 ml of milk
  • 125 ml of melted margarine
  • 15 ml of vanilla extract (only for sweet waffles)
  • 500 g of flour
  • 3 g of salt
  • 15 g of baking powder
  • 10 g of white sugar

Method:

  1. In a bowl, beat egg whites till stiff (if you tilt┬áthe bowl, they shouldn’t slip)
  2. Beat egg yolks in another bowl until thick
  3. Beat milk, melted margarine, and vanilla into eggs
  4. In a separate bowl, combine remaining ingredients
  5. Mix into the egg mixture and stir till well mixed
  6. Fold egg whites into batter
  7. Spray waffle iron with non-stick spray
  8. Plug in and wait until hot (if you have a new waffle iron, put the oil in the interior very well and let it heat up. Make the first waffle very brown and throw it away)
  9. Pour batter, stopping just before the edges. Use about 125 ml of batter.
  10. Bake until golden brown. Baking time will vary depending on the batter and browning preference
  11. DECORATE!
